Seni on hold til 2010!

In part due to the current economic climate and because of new pending events and projects, Fighters Inc would like to announce that they will not be organising the Seni expo in 2009. Seni celebrated its decade year in 08, however this blockbuster of a show will take a break in 09 and return to the capital for Seni 2010.

Internationally recognised as the world’s leading and largest martial arts festival and expo Seni08 was by far the largest and most successful show of the ten year tenure. Seni, at 15,000sqm has grown to become the UK’s largest sports consumer exhibition and the world largest martial arts expo, a great endorsement for the UK martial arts and combat sports sector.

Seni started in 1999 at the NEC as a 3,000sqm event, making Seni08 the 10 th year and most successful to date. In its first year it was the first martial arts expo worldwide and remains the market leader.

Fighters Inc have dedicated themselves to the Seni concept for the last 10 years, as a company the mission is to deliver innovative, experiential events and projects directly into the combat sports sector. With a range of new projects and continuous developments in 2009 we feel that as a small company our resources, time constraints and prioritizing mean that we have decided time is also against us to organise Seni09 to the professional levels our clients have been used to.

In 1997, Paul Alderson retired as current WKF world champion and formed Fighters Inc with international fighter, long term training partner and friend Joe Long. The first Fighters Inc experience was 3on3 Karate, a showcase event that was aired on Sky Sports, with the aim to spotlight martial arts in a professional and unparalleled way.

3on3 sold out venues for 10 years and in 2006 it was decided to run the last 3on3 event and close the brand on a high. Nothing has changed in principles as Fighters Inc have secured a reputation as the leading innovative and creative combat sports agency and we feel that Seni will benefit its fans and exhibitors alike in 2010 whilst we remain active in 09 with other ideas and initiatives.

In 2009 we have a very congested year and plans are in place for a number of new brands and experiences up to and including 2010.

On 26-28 February 2010 we coordinate The 2nd European Festival of Martial Arts at the Disneyland Resort Paris which was well received for the first time in September 08.

As many in this sector may be aware, Fighters Inc successfully released an independent movie titled “Sucker Punch” in 08. We are delighted that our first theatrical release has lead to further film and documentary projects which will take up considerable time and energy throughout 09.

We have also recently created our “Experience” range of events. “Toe to Toe With” seminars saw the first with Chuck Liddell and we have recently confirmed K1 Grand Prix Champion Remy Bonjasky for February 21 st, London & 22 nd, Coventry.  The “Experience” range also crosses over to VIP event hospitality boxes and The Big Screen Experiences has recently launched.

The decision to cancel Seni this year has been a difficult one to make for Fighters Inc, Paul Alderson explains “The floor plan was 80% full and we had an incredible amount of pre ordered tickets. We would like to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors, visitors, promoters and media who have supported the show positively over the last 10 years and we look forward to returning in 2010 and progressing with other events and brands in 2009.”

Joe Long continues, “We are extremely proud of what we have achieved with the Seni Show and for those promoters like us, who strive to take martial art live events out of the sports hall and organise professional and positive martial arts initiatives, we salute you and hope that you, like us, will continue driving the industry upwards as we believe Seni has across the last 10 years.”
